Born to Janice Mayers and Amos Jones but raised by Janice Mayers alone.   

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, in a single parent home, as the fourth of five children.  Who were Quantina, Tarina, Troy,  myself and Jessie. 

I myself became a single parent at the age of sixteen.  By the grace of God, I was able to complete High School, one semester early and go on to college.  I obtained my Associates Degree in Secretarial Science at Lewis College of Business.  Before college, I attended TAPEC (Teen Age Parent Educational Center), where I actually earned my extra credits to attend college early. 

I now reside in Georgia, married to Dennis Rivers, with three children, Charles Lonel PEARSON, Iyanna La’Shell Dobbins and Theodore Dobbins, III. 

Living in Georgia extended unto me more than just an achieved goal.  Georgia is where I received my deliverance.  As a child who was molested, from the age of 5 to 7, by a very close “family friend”, and as a teenage single parent and a young woman, for six years, living in an abusive relationship, it was not until then, residing in Georgia, that I’ve gained awareness to deal with serious issues. 

Having very low self esteem and a serious attitude problem permitted me to conceal, avoid and deny my experiences.  Though I have always been determined to be free of my past, these experiences still existed. Wondrously, supernaturally and unconsciously, the Lord moved me to share my experiences as a testimony.  How He has kept me, so many years, in my right mind.  Being one, of many who have experienced such misfortune, I am blessed to have overcome such obstacles.  I was taught, THE POWER BEHIND FORGIVNESS.  I have learned to forgive those who have hurt me and send that pain away.  This, which I’ve experienced, was not for me but it was for someone else.
